Wife's Death Delays Salute To Dr. Jolls, Physician 63 Years
Mrs. Jolls, who was 88, fell ill exactly a month ago. But until the end she insisted that the community testimonial for Dr. Jolls go on and she promised to attend.
The announcement of Mrs. Jolls' death caused the testimonial to be postponed.
In fact, the community salute to Dr. Jolls was aimed at Mrs. Jolls as well. She shared her husband's 68 years in Orchard Park, having been married on Aug. 14, 1895, less than a month before Dr. Jolls, then 21, began practicing in Orchard Park.
Mrs. Jolls was a talented musician. She played the organ for years at the Dayton Methodist Church and later was organist at the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Jolls also was an avid crocheter and needled many fine items. Until her illness last month she was in good health. Dr. Jolls is her only immediate survivor.
