E.B. (Ellen) says that someone on Muffy's side has a genealogy tree done (probably Aunt Ruth).

Muffy was in the middle of her other two siblings. Her older brother was Richard (known as Dick). Her younger brother was Philip.

Her mother Charlotte was known as "Lottie".

Grew up in Graniteville, MA (now called Westford, MA).

Attended school in a 1 room schoolhouse.

Never went to college.

E.B. (Ellen) has a report card from school for Muffy.

Born in Massachusetts.

Resides in Wilbraham, MA.

Enjoys radio.

Bernice E. Bemben

WILBRAHAM - Bernice E. (Hall) Bemben, 87, of Highmoor Drive, died Sunday at Wing Hospital in Palmer. She was the secretary to the quality control manager at Westinghouse Electric Corp. in East Springfield during World War II. Born in Westford, she lived in West Springfield before moving to Wilbraham in 1959. She was a 40-year member of the United Church and chaired the building committee for its new Fellowship Hall. She belonged to the Wilbraham Choral Group and the Wilbraham Women's Guild. While in West Springfield, she was a member of Mittineauge Congregational Church and the Parent-Teacher Association. She also was a Cub Scout den mother. She leaves her husband, John Bemben; a son, Richard E. of Peabody; two daughters, Ellen Bemben of Wilbraham and Anne Jones of Burlington, Vt.; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be scheduled, and there are no calling hours. Byron's Allen Street Funeral Home of Springfield is in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Foundation, 184 Mill St., Springfield, MA 01108.

Wilbraham: Bernice E. (Hall) Bemben, 87, of Highmoor Drive, Wilbraham, died Sunday, November 19, 2000 at Wing Hospital, Palmer. She was the wife of John Bemben of Wilbraham, former vice-president of Friendly Ice Cream. During WWII she was the secretary to the quality control manager of Westinghouse Electric in East Springfield. Born in Westford, she lived in West Springfield before moving to Wilbraham in 1959. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bemben leaves her son, John (sic) E. Bemben of Peabody; two daughters, Ellen Bemben of Wilbraham and Anne Jones of Burlington, VT. There are 4 grandchildren. A Memorial Service in celebration of Mrs. Bemben's life will take place on Saturday, December 9 from 1-3 PM in the Fellowship Hall of the Wilbraham United Church, 500 Main Street. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Bemben's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, 11 Campus Eathampton, MA 01027.
